1. Vicki Tips!
The extraordinary Vicki Freed has been keeping the flame alive for Travel Partners through her captivating Coffee Talks and Vicki's Tips. This week I was honored to be included as tip #2010. Here’s a tip on skill sharpening from Geraldine Ree. “Better leadership skills are the gateway to high performance. In the same way that an advisor is powerless without product knowledge and sales skills, a leader is lost without one-on-one communication skills, energy management, strategic planning, and decision-making. While continuous learning may seem obvious, leaders become overwhelmed and ignore warning signs that they don't have the skills they need to rise above the fires all around them. On-the-job training isn't enough, no matter how long you've been doing it. In fact, the longer you've led, the less you know because you have much bigger blind spots. Invest at least part of every single day learning how to improve your ability to lead and conduct crucial conversations.”

3. Leading the Comeback Conversation: Better, Together!
On Friday I hosted my last in a series of conversations with industry leaders. The purpose was to consider what's changed since the pandemic, and how we can work together to go from "Falling to Flourishing"!
Here are a few takeaways
- Leaders (and advisors) are committed to coming back better. Better systems, better business, better financials.
- We need more advisors to process the surge in bookings. Recruitment continues to be a priority for most
- Experience advisors leaving the industry has created a void in valuable knowledge workers.
- Suppliers need to support advisors by removing obstacles such as long hold times, the ability to get answers and updating technology to automate tasks (save precious time).
It's been an unforgettable experience with industry leaders from the front line to the CEO.
